So, I'm going to load up now the Social and Collaboration compass. Now, the first part is just having xDesign loaded up so I can access all of my CAD design geometry information and features, but I also need the files. So you can see, this is very flexible, and really lets you customize it any way you want. I can click on 3D again, and drag and drop it in again. If I go, now I accidentally added that to the Community tab, if I want to get rid of that, I simply go to this option over here and say Remove. Now, here I haves my xDesign app loaded in the dashboard. So I'm going to go ahead and hit X on this, come back over here and click on maximize. If we let go, we've now added the xDesign app to this dashboard. If we left-mouse button click, hold that down over that icon, and then just simply drag it over into our interface, you see we get that phantom line, that dashed line that goes around. We've got 3DPlay, which we'll talk about more later, a Global Viewer, and then the SolidWorks xDesign app. So I'm going to go ahead and collapse all of these other things down and just keep open 3DExperience Roles and & Apps, scroll back down again, and you can see here that we've got five different apps available. As we scroll down further, we get to the part that's really interesting to us, and that's our 3D Modeling Apps. I have several, because I'm part of many different programs, but you will generally just have an xDesign profile.

So these are the roles that an individual has as they're logged in.

And starting from the top down, we see the 3DExperience Marketplaces, which we're going to discuss more later. And you can see that I've got everything expanded. When I do this, it brings out this task bar on the left-hand side.

So let's start by clicking on the 3D Modeling App button. We're going to focus mostly on the Social and Collaborative Apps and the 3D Modeling Apps. So starting at the top, we have Social and Collaborative Apps, 3D Apps, Simulation Apps, and Information Intelligence Apps. If I go up to the left, we have the compass here which gives us access to all the widgets and apps that we want to use to add to this. So these are different tabs that are available on the dashboard. And I'm going to put my community stuff in the second tab. So let's say I want to put my CAD in the first tab, and oops, didn't accept that, so CAD.

And I can add tabs to it, just by clicking the plus sign. Now, you see when you start, there's nothing here. It's going to be an empty dashboard, and I'm going to call it New xDesign. But let's say that we started with a blank dashboard. Now, if I go over to this drop, then you can see here that I have a dashboard created for Xdesign. Now, in front of you everything that you see on this interface is considered part of the 3DDashboard. It's generating a configuration.- Now that we've logged onto the 3DExperience platform, it's important that we understand how the 3DDashboard works. You can also have a 3DDrive Part that you can choose. I have a SOLIDWORKS Part file that I'd like to bring in. I've got SOLIDWORKS, CATIA, 3DXML, STEP, and IGES. And now you can see here I have some options for what file format I'd like to bring in or import. I'm going to click OK again to keep this in the collaborative space. I'm not going to save any of the changes that I've made 'cause I haven't done any yet. And I'm going to close the revisions, and now I'm going to go down to the Import option. I'm going to drop it in the collaborative space LinkedIn xDesign, click OK. I'm going to go ahead and close this out because I'm done working with this file, so I'm going to hit the Close icon over here. The last thing that remains here is importing some geometry into SOLIDWORKS xDesign.
